Fire in Bathurst and St. Clair restaurant leaves 2 firefighters injured
Two firefighters were injured in a two-alarm fire at a restaurant in the Bathurst Street and St. Clair Avenue West area Wednesday night.
Emergency crews were called to a low-rise building near Vaughan Road and Arlington Avenue at 8:45 p.m.
Much of the fire was concentrated in the middle to the back of the building, said Toronto Fire Platoon Chief Kevin Shaw.
Paramedics assessed both firefighters, both of whom were conscious and breathing. One was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation and minor burns, Shaw said, but was not in critical condition.
The intersection of Arlington Avenue and Vaughan Road was closed, but has since reopened.
