2 pedestrians injured, 1 critically, in separate collisions in Mississauga

Peel police are investigating after two pedestrians injured, one critically, in separate collisions in Mississauga overnight.

Early Sunday, a man was struck by a car on Drew Road west of Torbram Road.  Emergency crews were called to the scene at 1:45 a.m.

The man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and his condition is still considered life-threatening.

Peel police’s major collision bureau continues to investigate the collision.

The windshield of the car that hit the pedestrian was completely shattered from the impact.

Late Saturday, a woman was struck by a transit bus on Goreway Drive and Dorcas Street, near Derry Road. Emergency crews were called to the scene at 11:30 p.m.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The windshield of the bus was shattered.

Const. Iryna Yashnyk, spokesperson for Peel Regional Police, said no charges have been laid in either collision.

Roads were closed in both cases but have since reopened.
