We have such good luck! 30 degrees… It’s perfect – nice and sunny! Very nice to see some of the kids that have come out – there are some autistic kids, some kids that have syndrome that are actually playing in the bocce tournament! They actually have their own team which is really nice to see. People are having fun, having a good time, raising funds… I mean, it’s fantastic!”.

“Very special! We, as an organization, raise a lot of funds for children’s charities, special needs kids of all kinds, whether they’ll be physically disabled or it they’re special needs children. It warms your heart to see that LiUNA, through their fundraising, makes a difference. Because you can fundraise and sometimes we don’t even know where the money goes and our organization, every time we raise money, we give money and we know exactly where it is going. It’s making a difference in our communities.

As a father of a special needs child, it’s pretty special to see that a group of kids here in the Toronto Area are going to benefit from people having fun here today. Look at them – they’re all having fun, they don’t even realize, a lot of them, where the money is going or what it is going to do. At the end of the day they find out and they go: Wow! I contributed, I was part of something very special”.

“I think this is perfect the way it is. If you make this much bigger it becomes a logistical problem to run it and everything else. Because, you know, the courts are perfect, there’s maybe a 150 people to a 100 people here and they still raise a good amount of money. So, you increase your overhead, you increase your costs, and in the end of the day you still raising the same amount of money”.

“Looking at how many people we have here, and how important it is for us today… Getting to 100 years’ anniversary and have a day like this, getting 75 thousand dollars going to charity is fantastic. For us, today is a good day.

2019 is a good year – we will never forget, because we reached 100 years.

This year, every day is a special day.”, afirmou Carmen Principato, Business Manager da LiUNA 506.
