Toronto police find body of missing diver in Humber Bay Park West

Toronto police have found the body of a missing diver in Lake Ontario near Humber Bay Park West.

The CBC’s Linda Ward on scene says a diver was pulled from the water around 9:20 a.m. Monday.

The family of a diver, who went missing on Sunday evening, was seen weeping on the shore after learning about the discovery.

Members of the Toronto police marine unit had resumed the search on Monday, near Lake Shore Boulevard West and Park Lawn Road, hours after two men went into the water, but only one resurfaced.

The diver was reported missing at 7:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Officers have taped off part of the shoreline as police boats scour the water for the diver. White plastic buoys on the surface mark where the two men went diving.

The first man reported to police that the second man was having trouble with his scuba diving regulator and he saw him sink below the surface.

Police searched for the missing diver late Sunday night but the man was not located.
