Artificial Intelligence

AI. Two Simple Letters? No. John Chung asks the question, “is data the new oil?” The future of our lives will include two letters that will change the way we live and how the world around us is managed.

AI or artificial intelligence conjures up visuals of a way of thinking like we have never known. However, it has always existed in other forms for many years. The term artificial intelligence suggests that the world is throwing away human thinking and substituting with an alternative that is not real. The reality is that it is real, and it is here now, so get used to hearing about it and embrace it. Is AI the future way of doing things or just another step in developing a society which is attempting to substitute human thinking for the benefit of a few in an ever-expanding commercial world?

AI means a robotic world, storage of intelligence in the clouds, buildings that can think for themselves, self-driving cars and control of our bodies. The common person may think that this is a further erosion of the little privacy we enjoy. Fact is that there is no privacy, as there is no democracy. Most already lead robotic lives for which there is no deviation as to not upset a schedule. AI will further organize the world around us by suggesting what to eat, sleep or even have sex. This will all be programmed in our bodies so our minds will obey and implement commands.

Should we view this control as an enhancement of our lives? The human condition will certainly suffer its effects. There’s less human interaction and dialogue. Eye and human contact is disappearing and communication is carried out electronically because it’s easier to be hidden and say what you feel without the consequences of a response we may not appreciate. Most of the activities of our daily lives are ordered electronically including relationships.
The future holds many exiting prospects that will simultaneously make our lives simpler and more complicated. For the most part we have no choice but to embrace it, but what will happen to a warm embrace or a kiss between human beings? Scary and exciting times thinking who will be the new Saudi Arabia.

Inteligência Artificial

IA. Duas letras simples?
