The Portuguese national football team had its first training session on Tuesday at the Cidade do Futebol training centre in Oeiras ahead of decisive World Cup 2018 qualification games against Andorra and Switzerland.
Fernando Santos’ team, including Cristiano Ronaldo, striker Eder who scored the winning goal in Euro2016 and goal keeper Anthony Lopes, arrived at a hotel in Cascais late Monday night.
The Portugal team, which is in second place in World Cup qualifying Group B, will play in Andorra on 7 October. The team will return to Portugal on 10 October for the game against Switzerland at the Estadio da Luz stadium.
Switzerland is currently the Group B leader and the game in Lisbon could be crucial for the Portuguese team to directly qualify for the World Cup final in Russia.
